A very close game took place in Orlandina between Orlandina and Ferentino. Second ranked Orlandina (15-9) got a very close home victory over 3rd placed Ferentino (13-9). Orlandina managed to escape with a 3-point win 71-68 in the fight for the second place. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-11. But Ferentino won second period 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Orlandina won last quarter 18-16. They also forced 19 Ferentino turnovers. Forward Andrea Benevelli (202-85) nailed a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Fabio Zanelli (196-76) accounted for 19 points. Guard Francesco Guarino (182-79) came up with 15 points and forward Francesco Ihedioha (196-86) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Ferentino in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ferentino's coach Franco Gramenzi tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Orlandina maintains second place with 15-9 record having five points less than leader Trento. Loser Ferentino keeps the third position with nine games lost. Orlandina will meet at home league's leader Bari in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ferentino will play against Recanati and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
