The game between third ranked Ironi Ashkelon (9-7) and fifth ranked Maccabi Rishon (9-6) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Ironi Ashkelon was defeated by Maccabi Rishon in a tough game in Rishon Le-Zion 79-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ironi Ashkelon. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 27-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Brandon Bowman (204-84, college: Georgetown) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and his fellow American import swingman Joe Crawford (196-86, college: Kentucky, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. The former international guard Raviv Limonad (192-84) responded with 23 points and 7 assists and American swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Maccabi Rishon moved-up to fourth place. Ironi Ashkelon at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Maccabi Rishon are looking forward to face Elitzur Netanya (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ironi Ashkelon will play against B.C. Habikaa (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
