Rather expected game when 6th ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (7-9) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Maccabi Ramat Hen (11-5) 59-53 on Monday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hap.Petah Tikva won third quarter 16-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Sequoia Holmes (185-86, college: UNLV, agency: Merit Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds. Guard Darxia Morris (172-89, college: UCLA, agency: Merit Sports) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Sheri Lynette Sam (183-74, college: Vanderbilt, agency: Ronsport) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and forward Kaili McLaren (188-88, college: Connecticut) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Maccabi Ramat Hen maintains fourth position with 11-5 record. Loser Hap.Petah Tikva dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. Maccabi Ramat Hen will meet Elitzur Netanya (#8) on the road in the next round. Hap.Petah Tikva will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv and hope to secure a win.
