Second Stage Round 1: Sagesse - Bejjeh 100-83

There was no surprise in Beirut where 6th ranked Bejjeh (7-11) was defeated by fourth ranked Sagesse (9-9) 100-83. The game was mostly controlled by Sagesse. Bejjeh was better in fourth quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Sagesse players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a very good performance for American forward Nathanel Johnson (199-77, college: Louisville) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international guard Sabah Khoury (196-82, agency: Pro Management Agency) contributed with 27 points and 8 assists for the winners. Four Sagesse players scored in double figures. International forward Nadim Souaid (192-86) answered with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and international forward Patrick Bou Abboud (199-87) added 25 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Bejjeh. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sagesse. They maintain fourth place with 9-9 record. Bejjeh at the other side keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. Sagesse will play against higher ranked Anibal (#3) in Zahle in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bejjeh will play at home against the league's second-placed Champville in Dik El Mehdi and hopes to get back on the winning track.
