The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Obras (18-7) in Bahia Blanca on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by twelfth ranked Wuber-Est.Bahia (10-15) 90-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Obras. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-84. 26 personal fouls committed by Obras helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International guard Juan Ignacio Sanchez (193-77, college: Temple) stepped up and scored 17 points and 6 assists for the winners and American power forward Jerome Meyinsse (206-88, college: Virginia) chipped in 17 points. At the losing side the former international power forward Tyler Field (206-78, college: San Diego) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Tony Washam (200-82, college: St.Vincent) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Wuber-Est.Bahia and five Obras players scored in double figures. Wuber-Est.Bahia moved-up to eleventh place. Obras at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost. Wuber-Est.Bahia are again looking forward to face league's leader Obras in Buenos Aires in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Obras will have a break next round.
