Regular Season Round 33: Concordia - UQAM 80-62

Rather predictable result in Montreal, QC where first ranked Stingers (14-2) beat 3rd placed Citadines (7-9) 80-62 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Stingers. Citadines was better in second period 28-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Stingers dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Citadines' 28. They outrebounded Citadines 40-25 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international point guard Kyle Desmarais (188-87, college: Cent.Conn.St.) who scored 15 points and 5 assists. Jerome Blake chipped in 14 points. Five Stingers players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Richard Kwaku Addai (183-88) who recorded 26 points and 5 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) and guard Eric Cote-Kougnima (193-88) added 6 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Stingers have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-2 record. Loser Citadines keep the third position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
