Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Osaka: Panasonic Trians (#3) and Hitachi Sunrockers (#4). Panasonic Trians (20-14) won against visiting Hitachi Sunrockers (20-14) 80-75. The hosts were already 20 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 34-19 Hitachi Sunrockers' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 80-75 at the end of the game. Panasonic Trians dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Hitachi Sunrockers' 32. The former international center Fumihiko Aono (210-78) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and international guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) accounted for 17 points and 5 rebounds. International power forward Joji Takeuchi (206-85, agency: N.E.T.) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Daisuke Kobayashi (188-87) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Hitachi Sunrockers in the defeat. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Panasonic Trians have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 20-14 record having five points less than leader Aishin SH, which they share with Hitachi SR. Panasonic Trians will play against league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hitachi Sunrockers will play at home against Tochigi Brex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
