Regular Season Round 23: Clermont - Lievin 79-75

We should mention about the upset which took place in Clermont, where higher ranked Lievin Basket (12-11) lost to fifteenth ranked Stade Clermont (8-15) in a road game 75-79 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lievin Basket. Lievin Basket was trailing by 9 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 23-18 charge of Stade Clermont, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Marcus Jackson (202-82, college: Marquette, agency: Court Side) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Bulgarian swingman Simeon Naydenov (201-81, college: Louisville, agency: Global Sports Plaza) chipped in 23 points. Four Stade Clermont players scored in double figures. Guard Jerome Dessart (184-84) produced 7 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Vincent Lehut (186-87) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Stade Clermont maintains fifteenth place with 8-15 record. Loser Lievin Basket dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. Stade Clermont will face league's leader Saint-Quentin on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
