Regular Season Round 30: Concordia - UQAM 42-44

Date: February 24, 2012
A very interesting game took place in Montreal. It ended with only two-point home defeat of second-best Concordia (8-8) to fourth ranked UQAM (7-9) 44-42 on Friday evening. It looked good early as Concordia took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then UQAM had a 15-10 second period charge getting the lead and Concordia was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 42-44. UQAM held Concordia to an opponent 23.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.4 percent accuracy of the winners. The best player for the winners was center Camille Michaud (183) who scored 6 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Michelle Auger-Bellemare chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Andreanne Gregoire-Boudreau (170) who recorded 12 points and forward Tina Mpondani (183) added 4 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Concordia's coach Keith Pruden tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. UQAM moved-up to third place, which they share with Bishop's and Laval. Concordia at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
