Very expected game when 8th ranked LKS Sphinx (3-22) was smashed by second ranked Kotwica (13-12) in Kolobrzeg 87-63 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-63. It was a very good performance for American power forward Darrell Harris (208-84, college: Rhode Island) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Demetrius Brown (201-83, college: San Jose St.) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Kotwica players scored in double figures. Forward Jakub Dluski (200-87) answered with 13 points and 9 rebounds and guard Michal Michalak (194-93) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for LKS Sphinx. Kotwica maintains second place in Group B with 13-12 record having just two points less than leader Slask Wroclaw. LKS Sphinx lost fourteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with 22 games lost. Kotwica will face Polpharma (#5) in Starogard in the next round. LKS Sphinx will play at home against AZS Politechnika Warszawska in Warszawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
