Regular Season Round 15: Samedicino - Dinamo Tbilisi 75-89

Another exciting game was again a derby match of two teams from Tbilisi: Dinamo Tbilisi (#6) and Samedicino-Academia (#9). Samedicino-Academia was defeated at home 75-89 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It looked good early as Samedicino-Academia took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Dinamo Tbilisi had a 20-17 second period charge getting the lead and Samedicino-Academia was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-89. Dinamo Tbilisi dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Samedicino-Academia's 38. They outrebounded Samedicino-Academia 53-40 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Beka Tsivtsivadze (190-89) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. American forward Keyon Carter (203-88, college: ODU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. Five Dinamo Tbilisi players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Akaki Dvalishvili (206-90) who recorded 9 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian power forward Nemanja Ilic (206-83) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Samedicino-Academia's coach rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Dinamo Tbilisi maintains sixth place with 7-7 record. Samedicino-Academia at the other side dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Dinamo Tbilisi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena MIA.
