Important game to mention about took place in Valladolid. Thirteenth ranked Universidad de Valladolid (3-14) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 4th placed Cajacanarias (10-7) 63-61 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 31-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for center Maria Parro (182-85) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Maria Navarro (183-89) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Universidad de Valladolid's coach Jose Carlos Rojo used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American forward Melissa Goodall (187-89, college: Toledo) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Cajacanarias. Newly promoted Universidad de Valladolid maintains thirteenth place in Group A with 3-14 record. Loser Cajacanarias dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Universidad de Valladolid will face Alvargomez Guadalajara (#14) on the road in the next round.
