Regular Season Round 33: St.Francis X. - St.Mary's 84-54

Date: February 25, 2012
No shocking result in a game in Antigonish, NS where first ranked X-Men (16-4) smashed 5th ranked Huskies (9-11) 84-54 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-54. X-Men outrebounded Huskies 46-35 including 33 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when X-Men made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was guard Terry Thomas (193) who scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Bol Kong (198, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. X-Men's coach Steve Konchalski felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Tory Fassett who recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds and Brian Rouse added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. X-Men have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-4 record, which they share with Saskatchewan. Loser Huskies keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
