Important game to mention about took place in Halifax, NS. Sixth ranked Tigers (9-11) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 7th ranked Varsity Reds (7-13) 78-75 in the game for the fifth place. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-9. But Varsity Reds won second period 23-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Tigers won last quarter 20-18. They also forced 21 Varsity Reds turnovers. Varsity Reds were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Cameroonian forward William Yengue (193) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Casey Fox (193) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Michael Fosu answered with 14 points and 7 rebounds and guard Daniel Quirion (183) added 13 points and 8 assists in the effort for Varsity Reds. Four Varsity Reds players scored in double figures. Varsity Reds' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tigers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with St.Mary's. Varsity Reds at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Brandon. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
