Everything could happen in Starogard at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Polpharma and 6th ranked PBG Basket had identical 8-16 record. This time Polpharma used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Poznan 84-76 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But PBG Basket won third quarter 25-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for American guard Michael Hicks (193-83, college: Central Mo.) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. His fellow American import forward Jeremy Simmons (203-89, college: Charleston, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Polpharma players scored in double figures. Polpharma's coach Wojciech Kaminski used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Serbian guard Djordje Micic (195-83) answered with 17 points and Serbian forward Zarko Comagic (201-85, college: N.Arizona, agency: 011 Sports) added 16 points in the effort for PBG Basket. Polpharma maintains fifth place in Group B with 9-16 record. Loser PBG Basket keeps the sixth position with 17 games lost. Polpharma will face league's second-placed Kotwica in Kolobrzeg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. PBG Basket will play at home against Siarka Jezioro (#3) in Tarnobrzeg.
