There was an upset in Lugo where 4th placed Grupo Iruna Navarra (15-10) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Leche Rio Breogan (12-13) 78-71 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Grupo Iruna Navarra won third quarter 18-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American power forward Brooks Sales (208-80, college: Villanova) fired 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Nigerian-Dominican guard Sean Ogirri (188-86, college: Wyoming) chipped in 17 points. Czech center Ondrej Starosta (215-79) produced 25 points and 6 rebounds and guard Mikel Uriz (180-89) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Leche Rio Breogan moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Caceres and Knet Clavijo. Grupo Iruna Navarra at the other side dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. Leche Rio Breogan will face higher ranked Melilla Baloncesto (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Grupo Iruna Navarra will play against Clinicas Rincon in Malaga.
