Another interesting game was again a derby match of two teams from Doha: Al Rayyan (#1) and Al Arabi (#4). Al Rayyan (12-0) won against visiting Al Arabi (7-5) 91-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Arabi. They outrebounded Al Arabi 54-29 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al Rayyan players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by American guard Chauncey Leslie (183-81, college: Iowa) who scored that evening 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and international Erfan Ali (198-83) supported him with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Even a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds by American-Nigerian forward Alvin Mofunanya (203-87, college: Fair Dickinson, agency: Dream Team Management) did not help to save the game for Al Arabi. American-Sierra Leonean guard Abdulai Jalloh (188-86, college: JMU) added 17 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Four Al Arabi players scored in double figures. Al Rayyan have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-0 record. Al Arabi at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
