The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Marghera's (9-9) home victory over 9th ranked Bolzano (7-12) in Venezia 76-46 on Saturday. The game without a history. Marghera led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bolzano to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Marghera forced 28 Bolzano turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Marghera especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Bulgarian forward Anna Rimpova (183-82) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Guard Marta Savelli (175-82) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Marghera players scored in double figures. Polish-French center Karolina Piotrkiewicz (190-84, college: Liberty, agency: LBM Management) replied with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Camilla Valerio (172-93) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Bolzano. Marghera moved-up to seventh place in North. Bolzano lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. Marghera will face higher ranked Udine (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bolzano will play against Borgotaro.
