No shocking result in a game when third ranked Grasshoppers (12-7) beat 6th ranked Eurosped (4-16) in Katwijk 73-58 on Saturday. Grasshoppers forced 26 Eurosped turnovers. Strangely Eurosped outrebounded Grasshoppers 43-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by the former international guard Karin Kuijt (175-90) who scored that evening 26 points and 5 assists and forward Rianne Philippo (180-87) supported her with 14 points. Even 28 points and 9 rebounds by the former international forward Marianne Van der Hoek (180-90) did not help to save the game for Eurosped. The former international center Sharon Lammerink (189-93) added 12 points and 17 rebounds. Grasshoppers have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 12-7 record having six points less than leader Binnenland. Loser Eurosped keeps the sixth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with HLB Account.. Grasshoppers will meet league's leader Binnenland in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Eurosped will play against Lekdetec.nl (#4) in Bemmel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
