Regular Season Round 30: Acadia - Memorial 70-57

Not a big story in a game when 4th ranked Memorial (10-10) lost to first ranked Acadia (17-3) in Wolfville 57-70 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Acadia forced 23 Memorial turnovers and outrebounded them 45-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for swingman Emma Duinker (182-89) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Abbey Duinker (188-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Acadia players scored in double figures. Forward Ally Forsey (191-90) replied with 13 points and 8 rebounds and forward Grace Fishbein (180-90) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Memorial. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Acadia maintains first position with 17-3 record. Loser Memorial keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
