There was no surprise when 15th ranked Quilmes MP (8-19) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Olimpico de La Banda (10-16) 78-74. The hosts were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 22-13 Quilmes MP's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 78-74 at the end of the game. American forward John DeGroat (198-85, college: Pittsburgh) notched 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and naturalized Italian guard Eduardo Villares (188-79) supported him with 16 points. Four Olimpico de La Banda players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds by naturalized American guard Phillip McHopson (188-87, college: Idaho) did not help to save the game for Quilmes MP. American forward Louis Truscott (201-78, college: Houston, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Olimpico de La Banda moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Boca Jrs. Newly promoted Quilmes MP keeps the fifteenth position with 19 games lost.
