An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Dublin. First ranked DCU Saints faced their biggest opponent B.Gais Neptune. Host DCU Saints (16-4) smashed guests from Cork (10-8) 92-58. DCU Saints forced 30 B.Gais Neptune turnovers and outrebounded them 49-38 including 23 on the offensive glass. It was a great shooting night for DCU Saints especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Latvian center Martins Provizors (202-87) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Forward Patrick Glover (193-77) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four DCU Saints players scored in double figures. DCU Saints' coach David Donnelly felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Ronald Thompson (208-81, college: Morehouse) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Gerard Noonan (180-82) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for B.Gais Neptune. DCU Saints maintains first place with 16-4 record. B.Gais Neptune at the other side dropped to the third position with eight games lost. DCU Saints will play against league's second-placed 11890 Killester in Dublin in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. B.Gais Neptune will play at home against Moycullen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
