There was a minor upset when second-best Trieste (18-8) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Santarcangelo (8-17) 63-53 on Sunday. The game without a history. Santarcangelo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Santarcangelo forced 28 Trieste turnovers. Strangely Trieste outrebounded Santarcangelo 44-26 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for guard Matteo Palermo (190-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 4 steals. Swingman Luca Bedetti (193-89) helped adding 13 points and 7 steals. The best for the losing side was Alfredo Moruzzi (193-80) with 14 points and 8 rebounds and forward Luca Gandini (205-85) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. Santarcangelo moved-up to fourth place. Loser Trieste still keeps top position with eight games lost. Santarcangelo will face Castelletto (#6) at home in the next round. Trieste will play against Casalpusterlengo (#4).
