There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Assignia Manresa (10-11) beat at home 9th ranked Cajasol (10-11) 76-71 on Sunday. Cajasol was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 21-13 charge of Assignia Manresa, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Assignia Manresa made 8 blocks. It was a good game for American forward Justin Doellman (206-85, college: Xavier) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. American-Dominican power forward Josh Asselin (211-78, college: Michigan, agency: Duran International) contributed with 16 points for the winners. The former international center Guillem Rubio (202-82) answered with 12 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and guard Txemi Urtasun (193-84, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points in the effort for Cajasol. Cajasol's coach Joan Plaza rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Assignia Manresa moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Cajasol and Fuenlabrada. Cajasol lost their fourth game in a row. Assignia Manresa will face Gran Canaria 2014 (#13) in Las Palmas in the next round.
