Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Takamatsu FA (2-32) lost on the road to fifth ranked Sendai 89ers (18-16) 72-54 on Sunday. The game without a history. Sendai 89ers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Takamatsu FA's 30. They outrebounded Takamatsu FA 54-35 including a 40-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sendai 89ers made 7 blocks. Quite impressive performance for American center Rashaad Singleton (213-87, college: Florida Southern) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks. The other American import forward Johnny Dukes (203-84, college: San Bernardino CC) contributed with 3 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. Sendai 89ers' coach Robert Pierce used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
