Very expected game when 13th ranked Gran Canaria 2014 (8-13) lost on the road to second ranked Real Madrid (17-4) 90-72 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid. Gran Canaria 2014 was better in third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Real Madrid dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Gran Canaria 2014's 32. They outrebounded Gran Canaria 2014 31-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for international point guard Sergio Llull (190-87) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 4 assists. International power forward Felipe Reyes (203-80) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Colombian power forward Juan Palacios (204-85) answered with 23 points and Greek swingman Michael Bramos (196-87, college: Miami, OH) added 22 points in the effort for Gran Canaria 2014. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Real Madrid maintains second place with 17-4 record behind leader FCB Regal. Loser Gran Canaria 2014 keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Real Madrid will face Blusens Monbus (#15) in Santoago de Comp in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gran Canaria 2014 will play at home against Assignia Manresa.
