Regular Season Round 27: Torino - Perugia 80-69

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd placed Perugia's (11-14) road loss to second ranked Torino (18-9) 69-80 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Torino. Perugia was better in third quarter 32-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for guard Marco Portannese (192-89, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. The former international forward Cristiano Masper (208-73) helped adding 15 points. The best for the losing side was Davide Poltroneri (195-85) with 20 points and power forward Filippo Baldi Rossi (207-91) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Perugia's coach Andrea Fabrizi tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Torino maintains second place with 18-9 record having just two points less than leader Recanati. Perugia lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 14 games lost. Torino will face league's leader Trento on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Perugia will play against Firenze.
