The game in Beirut was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Byblos (8-10) played at the court of 8th ranked Hoops Club (5-13). Byblos managed to secure a 4-point victory 87-83 on Monday. Hoops Club was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Byblos forced 22 Hoops Club turnovers. Strangely Hoops Club outrebounded Byblos 46-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. American forward Desmond Penigar (201-81, college: Utah St.) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Chudney Gray (188-78, college: St.John's, agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in 25 points during the contest. American guard Damond Williams (197-80, college: McNeese St.) responded with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Hassan El Khatib scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Four Hoops Club players scored in double figures. Byblos maintains fifth position with 8-10 record. Hoops Club lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
