An exciting game was played in Vitebsk. First ranked Minsk-2006 faced 3rd placed Rubon. Guests from Minsk (17-1) smashed host Rubon (10-9) 107-51. The game without a history. Minsk-2006 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Rubon's 38. Minsk-2006 forced 28 Rubon turnovers and outrebounded them 39-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Rubon's players. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Aliaksei Lashkevich (204-78) who led the winners and scored 13 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). American guard Bobby Maze (188-86, college: Tennessee) accounted for 14 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Minsk-2006 players scored in double figures. The former international guard Dmitri Akulich (192-86) came up with 9 points and guard Siarhei Sapegin (195-84) added 9 points respectively for Rubon in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Minsk-2006. Defending champion maintains first place with 17-1 record. Rubon at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
