Regular Season Round 24: Hamar - Njardvik 83-84

Seventh-ranked Hamar (6-18) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Njardvik (18-6) on Wednesday. The visitors from Njardvik managed to secure only one-point victory 84-83. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 1 point. Njardvik forced 21 Hamar turnovers and had a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by Lele Hardy (178-88, college: Clemson, agency: Merit Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and guard Shanae Baker-Brice (168-87, college: Towson) supported her with 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Njardvik's coach Sverrir Sverrisson used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals by Katherine Graham (180-89, college: LSU, agency: Merit Sports) did not help to save the game for Hamar. Samantha Murphy (172-88, college: Grand Canyon) added 29 points and 6 rebounds. Njardvik have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-6 record behind leader Keflavik. Hamar at the other side dropped to the bottom place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Fjolnir. Njardvik will meet league's leader Keflavik on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hamar will play against Snaefell (#3) in Stykkisholmur and hope to secure a win.
