Second Stage Round 3: Telge - Northland 86-78

An interesting game for Telge (23-2) which hosted in Telge second-best Northland (20-5). First ranked Telge managed to get a 8-point victory 86-78. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-18. But Northland won second period 26-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Northland 41-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Telge especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for forward Binta Drammeh (180-92) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. Center Amanda Zahui (190-93) accounted for 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. International guard Frida Aili (179-88) came up with 22 points and 4 assists and power forward Josefin Vesterberg (187-93) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Northland in the defeat. Four Telge and five Northland players scored in double figures. Telge have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place in Group 1 with 23-2 record. Loser Northland keeps the second position with five games lost. Telge will meet Solna Vikings (#4) on the road in the next round. Northland will play against Mark Basket in Kinna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
