Third-ranked Amicale (11-9) gave a tough game to first ranked T71 (17-3) in Dudelange on Friday. T71 managed to secure only five-point victory 100-95. However their fans expected easier game. Amicale trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 30-19 run in the last quarter tied the game at the end of regular time, But then they lost eventually overtime period 15-20. T71 made 32-of-40 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Amicale only scored thirteen points from the stripe. Amicale was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international power forward Frank Muller (194-88, college: Cuesta JC) scored 25 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international guard Tom Schumacher (190-87, college: Cal.Baptist) chipped in 24 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Cameroonian forward Yves Mekongo (201-87, college: La Salle, agency: Dynamics Global Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and Croatian-Austrian forward Ivan Djerman (203-83) scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first position in League with 17-3 record. Amicale at the other side keeps the third place with nine games lost. T71 will face league's second-placed Sparta in Bertrange in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Amicale will play on the road against Etzella in Ettelbruck and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
