Important game to mention about took place in Salon. Seventh ranked Salon Vilpas (13-20) saved a 2-point victory at home edging top-ranked Joensuun Kataja (25-8) 76-74 on Friday evening. The best for the losing side was American swingman Jared Newson (195-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Pro One Sports) with 20 points and 9 rebounds and international guard Petri Virtanen (183-80) scored 14 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Salon Vilpas maintains seventh position with 13-20 record. Joensuun Kataja lost third consecutive game. Joensuun Kataja at the other side still keeps top place with eight games lost. Salon Vilpas will play against LrNMKY (#8) in Lappeenranta in the next round.
