Important game to mention about took place in Liege. Fifth ranked Leuven Bears (11-8) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Belgacom Liege (7-12) 78-76 on Friday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Belgacom Liege won third quarter 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Belgacom Liege 43-25 including 17 on the offensive glass. The game was also dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Brandon Freeman (191-83, college: UALR, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 22 points. Forward Jamel McLean (203-88, college: Xavier) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. point guard Dominic Waters (185-86, college: Portland St.) replied with 20 points, 9 assists and 4 steals and forward Josh Bostic (196-87, college: Findlay, OH) added 14 points and 6 assists in the effort for Belgacom Liege. Leuven Bears maintains fifth position with 11-8 record. Belgacom Liege at the other side keeps the seventh place with 12 games lost. Leuven Bears will play against Optima Gent (#8) at home in the next round. Belgacom Liege will play against Antwerp Giants and hopes to get back on the winning track.
