Regular Season Round 26: CB Canarias - Granada 88-77

LEB Gold top team - Canarias (20-5) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventeenth ranked CB Granada (6-20) in Tenerife 88-77. The game was mostly controlled by Canarias. CB Granada was better in third quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Canarias forced 21 CB Granada turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Guard Jaime Heras (193-82) scored 14 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) chipped in 8 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Canarias' coach Alejandro Martinez used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Jesus Fernandez (204-75) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and forward Angel Hernandez (196-91) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Four Canarias and five CB Granada players scored in double figures. Canarias maintains first position with 20-5 record. CB Granada lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth place with 20 games lost. Canarias will play against Ford Burgos (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. CB Granada will play against UB La Palma (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
