Regular Season Round 20: Sozh Gomel - Impuls BGUIR 62-101

Bottom-ranked Sozh Gomel (0-21) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 101-62 loss to fourth ranked BGUIR-RTI (9-12) in Gomel. The game without a history. BGUIR-RTI led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. BGUIR-RTI forced 29 Sozh Gomel turnovers. The winners were led by forward Aliaksandr Kuzmitski (198-92) who scored that evening 23 points and forward Yuriy Ignatiev (198-91) supported him with 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four BGUIR-RTI players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds by center Igor Drobyshevskiy (206-93) did not help to save the game for Sozh Gomel. point guard Yahor Patupchyk (186-94) added 22 points for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. BGUIR-RTI maintains fourth position with 9-12 record. Sozh Gomel at the other side still closes the standings. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
