Regular Season Round 41: Okinawa GK - Shimane SM 81-63

BJ League top team - Okinawa GK (30-7) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Shimane Magic (20-17) 81-63. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Shimane Magic was better in third quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Shimane Magic 46-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. Guard Narito Namizato (175-89) stepped up and scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. Okinawa GK's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Reggie Golson (201-81, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Court Side) responded with 18 points and the other American import forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Okinawa GK have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 30-7 record. Loser Shimane Magic dropped to the fourth position with 17 games lost. Okinawa GK will face again Shimane Magic (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
