Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Santo Andre (10-7) defeated on the road 7th ranked Blumenau (5-11) 69-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Santo Andre. Blumenau was better in third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Santo Andre dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Blumenau's 26. Santo Andre forced 21 Blumenau turnovers and outrebounded them 50-32 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Swingman Ariadna Felipe (179-83) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Ega Garvao (185-77, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 11 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side guard Mariana Camargo (180-85, college: ORU) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds and Cuban forward Yulianne Rodriguez (185-82) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds. Despite that victory Santo Andre went down to fifth position due to points difference. Loser Blumenau keeps the seventh place with 11 games lost.
