The game between Top Four teams took place in Kariya. First ranked host Aishin Sea Horses (27-9) defeated 4th ranked Panasonic Trians (20-16) 79-71. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 18-14 Panasonic Trians' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 79-71 at the end of the game. It was a good game for the former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). The former international point guard Shinsuke Kashiwagi (183-81) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Aishin Sea Horses' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. International swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) replied with 26 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and international point guard Hiroyuki Kinoshita (178-80) added 15 points in the effort for Panasonic Trians. Aishin Sea Horses have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 27-9 record. Panasonic Trians lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 16 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses' next round opponent will be Hitachi Sunrockers (#3) in Osaka, which may be the game of the day. Panasonic Trians will play at home against Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa.
