Rather expected game when 11th ranked Etendard de Brest (12-12) was smashed on the road by eighth ranked Sorgues (14-10) 92-71 on Saturday. Sorgues made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Etendard de Brest turnovers. The winners were led by Serbian forward Slobodan Ocokoljic (204-80, college: Weber St.) who scored that evening 17 points and 8 rebounds and guard Samir Mekdad (188-86) supported him with 11 points and 5 assists. Five Sorgues players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 9 rebounds by Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Pridotkas (200-84) did not help to save the game for Etendard de Brest. Forward Jimmy Lupot (190-83) added 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sorgues maintains eighth position with 14-10 record. Loser Etendard de Brest keeps the eleventh place with 12 games lost. Sorgues will meet higher ranked Souffelweyersheim (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Etendard de Brest will play against Chartres (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
