Very expected game when 9th ranked Oblate Dynamos (2-16) were smashed by third ranked DCU Mercy (15-3) in Dublin 79-31 on Saturday. DCU Mercy held Oblate Dynamos to an opponent 19.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 47.5 percent accuracy of the winners and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The former international guard Lindsay Peat (175-80) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points. Center Christina Newton (180-90) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four DCU Mercy players scored in double figures. Forward Tessa Solan (177-92) answered with 8 points and 19 rebounds and guard Julie Wilkins (170-87) added 5 points in the effort for Oblate Dynamos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. DCU Mercy moved-up to second place, which they share with TM Hotel Cork. Loser Oblate Dynamos dropped to the bottom position with 16 games lost.
