There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Lavrio (12-9) edged at home 3rd placed Ikaroi Serron (13-8) 81-78 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-78. Lavrio made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Lavrio especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Ikaroi Serron was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Nikos Psileas (200-80) stepped up and scored 25 points for the winners and swingman Dionysios Giannakopoulos (195-82) chipped in 12 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Lavrio players scored in double figures. Lavrio's coach Christos Serellis allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was guard Savvas Kaberidis (187-78) with 23 points and guard Kostas Totsios (191-78) scored 23 points. Lavrio moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Nea Kifisia and Arkadikos. Loser Ikaroi Serron keeps the third position with eight games lost. Lavrio will face Perama Ermis (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ikaroi Serron will play against Doxa Lefkadas (#10).
