Regular Season Round 25: Rosa Radom - AZS Kutno 72-71

The most exciting game of round 25 in the 1Liga took place in Radom. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked AZS Kutno (12-11) to fourth ranked Rosa Radom (15-9) 72-71 on Saturday evening. AZS Kutno was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 19-17 charge of Rosa Radom, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 AZS Kutno turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rosa Radom made 15 blocks. Guard Artur Donigiewicz (185-84) stepped up and scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and Marcin Kosinski chipped in 19 points and 4 blocks. At the losing side swingman Grzegorz Malecki (197-84) responded with 19 points and 4 steals and forward Aleks Perka (201-87, college: Rice, agency: Stanley International) scored 12 points. AZS Kutno's coach Jaroslaw Krysiewicz rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rosa Radom have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 15-9 record. AZS Kutno lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Polonia. Rosa Radom are looking forward to face Polonia (#9) in Przemysl in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. AZS Kutno will play at home against Sudety in Jelenia Gora and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
