Second Stage Round 3: Musel Pikes - Residence 64-61

The most exciting game of round 3 in the Diekirch League took place in Stadrbredimus. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Residence (10-11) to fourth ranked Musel Pikes (12-9) 64-61 on Sunday evening. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 23-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Brandon Gary (202-83, college: Hutchinson CC) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds. American-British forward Philip Perre (198-79, college: N.Alabama) chipped in a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Marcus Kennedy (193-84, college: Montevallo, agency: Interperformances) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Max Schmit (182-92) added 22 points respectively. Musel Pikes moved-up to third place in League. Residence at the other side keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. Musel Pikes are looking forward to face league's leader T71 in Dudelange in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Residence will play at home against Etzella (#4) in Ettelbruck and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
