Everything went according to plan in Las Palmas where eleventh ranked Assignia Manresa (11-11) beat 14th ranked Gran Canaria 2014 (8-14) 77-63 on Sunday. Assignia Manresa dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Gran Canaria 2014's 28. Assignia Manresa looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Gran Canaria 2014's players. American forward Justin Doellman (206-85, college: Xavier) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American-Dominican power forward Josh Asselin (211-78, college: Michigan, agency: Duran International) chipped in 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Assignia Manresa players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Marquez Haynes (191-86, college: Texas Arlington) responded with 18 points and Colombian power forward Juan Palacios (204-85) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds.
