Regular Season Round 22: Blusens M. - Real Madrid 69-83
Date: March 4, 2012
Not a big story in a game in Santoago de Comp where 15th ranked Blusens Monbus (7-15) was defeated by second ranked Real Madrid (18-4) 83-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid. Blusens Monbus was better in second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Kyle Singler (203-88, college: Duke) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Jaycee Carroll (188-83, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Four Real Madrid players scored in double figures. At the losing side Canadian-Irish forward Levon Kendall (209-84, college: Pittsburgh) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Argentinian-Italian guard Javier Bulfoni (192-76) scored 16 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Real Madrid have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-4 record behind leader FCB Regal. Newly promoted Blusens Monbus keeps the fifteenth place with 15 games lost. Real Madrid will face bottom-ranked Blancos de Rueda (#18) in Valladolid in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Blusens Monbus will play on the road against Assignia Manresa.
