Regular Season Round 20: Jarva Devils - Talje 57-78

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Jarva Devils (7-13) were crushed at home by eighth ranked Talje Knights (9-11) 78-57 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Talje Knights. Jarva Devils was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Talje Knights forced 19 Jarva Devils turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Tobias Borg (183-93) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. International forward Alexander Lindqvist (203-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Binyam Feghadu (195-89) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and guard Dilman Salih (187-80) added 4 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Talje Knights moved-up to seventh place in North, which they share with Orongo. Newly promoted Jarva Devils keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Talje Knights will face league's leader White Eagles in Stockholm in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Jarva Devils will play at home against the league's second-placed Taby Basket (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
