There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Otto Caserta (10-11) defeated on the road higher ranked Scavolini Pesaro (11-9) 81-75 on Sunday. Scavolini Pesaro trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 23-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-81 at the end of the game. Otto Caserta forced 21 Scavolini Pesaro turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for forward Andre Smith (203-85, college: N.Dakota St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Charlie Bell (191-79, college: Michigan St., agency: Priority Sports) helped adding 15 points and 4 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). point guard Ricky Hickman (189-85, college: NC-Greensboro) responded with 23 points and 6 steals and guard James White (199-84, college: Cincinnati, agency: Court Side) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Otto Caserta moved-up to tenth place. Scavolini Pesaro lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Otto Caserta will face higher ranked Bennet Cantu (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
