We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Kanagawa where 7th ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (12-24) were defeated by bottom-ranked Toshiba Thunders (7-29) 87-83 on Sunday. The former international swingman Shohei Kikuchi (190-85) scored 33 points (!!!) to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Chris Moss (204-80, college: W.Virginia) chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) with 29 points and 7 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and American center Byron Allen (201-81, college: Northwestern St., agency: SDJ Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Mitsubishi Dolphins players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Toshiba Thunders maintains eighth position with 7-29 record. Loser Mitsubishi Dolphins keep the seventh place with 24 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face higher ranked Panasonic Trians (#4) in Osaka in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
