Rather expected game when 6th ranked Firenze (7-20) was defeated on the road by third ranked Perugia (12-14) 88-80 on Sunday. Firenze trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 20-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 80-88 at the end of the game. Perugia made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Firenze turnovers. Firenze was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Davide Poltroneri (195-85) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 9 rebounds and forward Thomas De Min (203-86) who added 21 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international center Federico Bellina (205-79, agency: Players Group) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Stefano Spizzichini (202-90) scored 21 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Perugia maintains third position with 12-14 record having fourteen points less than leader Napoli. Firenze lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with 20 games lost. Perugia will face Treviglio (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Firenze will play against Santarcangelo in Sant'Arcangelo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
